Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
