Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any destruction is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
