The Austrian squad has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 Grand Prix year, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its A-team and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat.

Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become the partner of New Zealander Liam Lawson at the sister squad Racing Bulls.

This reshuffling sees Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat after five seasons.

Who is Arvid Lindblad?

The youngster was identified as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Regarding the team's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "appears very talented", praising his "pure speed".

The team prepared a programme for some time to prepare Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "dream come true", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's much to understand, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started."

He has won two races in F2 this year and is P6 in the championship ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season began on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, since then, he has been one of the stand-out rookies of the year.

He included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits in tenth place in the drivers' standings.

The team principal commented: "Isack has shown impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive next to Max."

The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared".

Lawson Retains His Seat

To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have chosen Lawson over Tsunoda.

The New Zealander began the season with the senior squad but was moved back after just two races. However, he has settled back in at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he merits another season.

Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His best result is a P6, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements confirm that there is also no spot on the Red Bull academy for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
